It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Nancy was sitting in the window seat of her living room looking out the window. She could see groups of children riding their bikes, families pushing strollers and walking their dogs. There were old couples walking holding hands and teenagers kissing. It seemed that everyone else in the world had someone—except Nancy. Her loneliness burned in her chest and brought her to tears.

Most of us have had the experience of feeling lonely. We may have just gone through a breakup or moved to a new city. Humans are social creatures and when we find ourselves alone, we often experience intense sadness and loneliness.

But, being alone doesn’t have to equate

Empty grunge Text

Everybody gets the blues. It’s when, no matter how much you love your life, today it sucks. You start to think of how your life in unfair and you look around and everyone else seems to have it better. We are not talking about clinical depression here. Your affect is just blunted. You’re not as smiling as usual. You just feel a little empty inside.

What do you do when you’re feeling empty inside? Is there a deeper message you should be listening to?

This question has perplexed the greatest philosophers and theologians of our time. Everybody wants to know how to get it or where to get it. Some people even look into money and possessions for it. Yet it eludes you like you never had a change of achieving it.

The real truth is you can achieve it and it’s probably easier than you think to get it. So do you want to know how to get it? I was sitting down writing my to-do list the other day and instantly hit me. It was like a tsunami of wisdom flooded my brain. In fact, it inspired me  to write this article.
